Join the Gold Institute for International Strategy for the First European Economic and Security Summit, a forward-looking dialogue on the future of the Balkan region in a shifting global environment, to be held in Banja Luka on 27–28 May 2026.
The Summit will bring together senior policymakers, security experts, economic decision-makers, and thought leaders from across Europe, the U.S. and allied nations to examine the evolving security and economic landscape in the Balkan region. Against the backdrop of shifting geopolitical dynamics, emerging security challenges, and significant changes in global economic trends, the event will focus on how the Balkan region can contribute to, and benefit from, a more resilient and coherent transatlantic security and economic order.
Banja Luka, and the broader Balkan region, sit at the crossroads of European, Eurasian, and Mediterranean interests. The Summit will highlight the Balkans’ importance as both a strategic frontier and a critical connector, exploring how developments there affect European security, energy and infrastructure corridors, regional investment climates, and political stability. Particular attention will be paid to the role of Republika Srpska within Bosnia and Herzegovina, and its neighbors, as Europe contends with shifting alliances, renewed great-power competition, and evolving institutional frameworks.
